Biography

Muhammad Alif K. Sahide is a Full Professor at Forestry Faculty of Universitas Hasanuddin and Head of Forest and Society Research Group of Forestry Faculty (FSRG) of Universitas Hasanuddin. He actively engages on forest education and networking in Southeast Asia, and is part of national policy committees and works across Southeast Asia. His research focuses on critical perspectives of international regimes, land use policy, commons and commoning, political ecology, community forestry, institutions, and bureaucratic politics in Indonesia. He continues to hold a broad portfolio of research on forest and land use governance. He serve as reviewer of approximately 20 forest policy and governance journals every year. He is also a research team member for 20 collaborative research projects supported by various international and national research, policy and planning institutions. As founding and chief editor of Forest and Society, Alif has also been active in leading capacity building and writing workshops for young researchers across Southeast Asia. He is engaged in various action research as well as facilitating capacity building and writing workshops for young researchers, supports various local NGOs on writing and publishing their ideas, all of which has been facilitated through the platform of the Forest and Society Research Group
